It should of been plenty. I would think its unlikely to get a upgrade as its older than a month but a replacement should be given.

The CX400 should be able to power that easily, seems to be another reason for it's death, afaik you can RMA it and get a refund. Wait for one of the scan guys to post tomorrow though as i'm not 100%.

    It's 4.98*

I agree with Peter, unless you're running a shedload of hard drives or something, that ought to have been plenty powerful enough.

Only an examination will tell, but if it's died, it doesn't sound like it was overloaded, or anywhere close to it. On the surface of it, it certainly sounds like you shouldn't have too much trouble getting it replaced, but whether Scan will substitute an upgraded unit or not? I can't see why not, but don't know what their policy is on such things.

However ..... it might depend on why the unit died. If the DVD had a fault that killed the PSU, it'll be down to whoever supplied the DVD. If it died because of something you did, such as sticking connectors in the wrong way round, it'll be down to you and you won't be covered at all. And if it was just a defective PSU component, which it may have been if it wouldn't take that load, you may just get it replaced or repaired.
