Just wondering if there's any news on the Nvidia 3D monitor & glasses bundle. Nvidia sort of announced would be April time for Europe, but no news yet on their website. You guys at scan heard any rumours

These will be under NDA.
That's going to be the answer everywhere, I'm afraid. Anyone who actually knows the date won't be allowed to say until nVidia decide to tell us.
NVIDIA® GeForce® 3D Vision™ is the most immersive gaming experience for the PC.
A combination of high-tech wireless glasses and advanced software, the GeForce 3D Vision kit transforms hundreds of PC games, 3D movies, and digital photographs into an eye popping, interactive 3D experience. When paired with a GeForce GPU and "GeForce 3D Vision-Ready" display, you can be a part of the action for the first time in crystal-clear stereoscopic 3D. Just slip on the stylish and comfortable glasses to experience characters and environments as they burst in and out of the screen. Give your eyes something to talk about with GeForce 3D Vision.

i wonder if it is worth getting one of these - it would mean giving up my 24" dell as I dont have room on my desk for 2 large monitors.
i used to have the edimensional 3d glasses to use on an old crt but they had a dodgy battery connection and died.. i have to admit though - the 3d effect was absolutly amazing
We were lucky enough to have a demo of these a few months back and absolutely amazing certainly is the word.
is it true that you have to use both dvi connections from your graphics card though?
if this is the case then i wont be able to get this
i have a gtx260 and connected to that is my 24" dell and an optoma hd projector, cant sacrifice the projector for the good of 3d
I've just had a look at the manual for the Glasses / 120Hz screen and can confirm only 1 x DVI connection would be required not 2.
Wohoo finally a bit of news. On the nvidia US forum they have indicated it will not be launched till end of May. I'm going to put a pre-order in and hope for the best
edit: placed order, I assume my card is not debited until despatch?

i have just found this:
im a bit confused by this. does the 'duel' in duel-link mean a certain type of port? or duel as in duel cables linking into one?Besides the high refresh rate, it is a noteworthy fact that the monitor is equipped with a dual-link DVI only. It does not have an analog input. The dual-link version of the interface is necessary to ensure the high refresh rate. At a resolution of 1680x1050 and a refresh rate of 120Hz the video data stream amounts to over 4.7Gbps whereas the peak bandwidth of the single-link DVI is somewhat lower than 4Gbps.
This should provoke no compatibility issues. Every modern discrete graphics card has dual-link DVI ports. Connecting a SyncMaster 2233RZ to them would not be different from connecting any other monitor. Integrated graphics cores and notebooks mostly have a single-link output, but this only means that refresh rates higher than 75Hz will not be available with them.
A Dual-Link DVI-D cable is included with the monitor. If you have to purchase it separately, take note that you will not be able to get the 120Hz refresh rate from this monitor with a Single-Link cable.
I believe, but could be wrong, that the cable is a single connection to the gfx, but then splits of as a double to the monitor.

Dual Link cables, not Dual headed DVI cables .
You certainly only need 1 x DVI Dual Link Port for you GPU, Dual Link connections support a higher refresh rate, required by the technology. I have just opened the box for the Samsung screen we have in as a sample and can confirm the Monitor only has 1 x DVI Connection and a Dual Link DVI cable is supplied.
Here is a list of the compatible GPU's
GeForce 8 Series
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra
GeForce 9 Series
NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2
All GeForce GTX 200 Series

You can use this technology with a standard Monitor, however the frequency of the screen would then be 60Hz, reducing your frame rates to 60fps. But when viewing through the Glasses this effectively halfs the frame rate to 30fps, which is not adequate.
