    belkin usb dongle

    Hi guys,

a few months ago i bought a Belkin F8T014UK Bluetooth (V2.0) USB Dongle.
worked fine on XP, but now i want to put it onto vista.

i cant find any drivers, and, what i find more worrying, is that this isnt showing up on belkins support site....

    any ideas??

    thanks

    Re: belkin usb dongle

Shouldn't really need dedicated bluetooth drivers for Vista - it has a lot built in and should just work really. I had a dongle from years back, like 2003 or something and that worked with Vista...

I use this one with vista64 and never needed the original driver disk. Couple of pence more expensive but I've first hand experience with it

    Re: belkin usb dongle

Microsoft did completely change the BlueTooth stack in Vista, this meant that some finctionality wasn't supported without a replacement stack and drivers from the manufacturer. A2DP is one such feature that isn't possible with the vista drivers. Likewise you cannot tether a phone to a laptop via bluetooth to share internet access in Vista, yet you can in XP.

These are things being addressed in Vista SP2 (currently available to system builders and MSDN subscribers I believe).

This is also a good little adapter: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/LM-Te...pport-upto-20m

    Re: belkin usb dongle

thanks for all the suggestions, but i like my little £2.50 dongle

luckily, after a big hunt around, i managed to find a load of generic BT drivers for vista (i think for the broadcom module) and it now seems to work fine.
i'll check what i used when i get home
