    Scan's free shipping...

I'd just like to confirm that Scan's free shipping is absolutely cracking. 9.00am on the dot my packed arrived, after ordering on Saturday. Considering the Bank Holiday, I find that very good. Especially when one takes into account that a certain competitor of Scan considered today to be "next day shipping" (also ordered on Saturday) and their free shipping is scheduled to be delivered next Monday.

My only negative point about Scan is that they don't stock Enermax 420+ modular PSUs and Accelero 8800GT graphics coolers!

At least I can sit and look at my shiny new Xigmatek whilst I wait though.

    Thanks scan,
    Michael

    Re: Scan's free shipping...

If I remember correctly, I ordered sort of mid afternoon, it is was only 10 minutes between the very first email telling me I had placed an order and the very last email telling me the order had been dispatched.

Incidentally, if anyone knows about the quality of the stock fan on Xigmatek S1283's, do share, please.

Its pretty good, relatively quiet and seems to a provide enough air flow.

I agree Scan free delivery is amazingly good, sometimes too good. If you have find that you have made a mistake with the order its a race against time to get it changed before its dispatched!!

Yes I agree, Free shipping from scan is great. I am also still waiting for an order I placed on Saturday to arrive. It's supposed to arrive today but as yet no sign of it.

It does indeed, but don't forget there's a minimum order value. IIRC, it's £20 (ex VAT).

It's not difficult to spend £20 though is it?

I was rather silly earler in the month - I placed 4 orders before I realised I hadn't registered for the free shipping! and paid extra for next day/Saturday on each of them......money down the drain.

I believe you'd have needed to pay extra for Saturday delivery regardless of the free delivery option.
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.

Indeed not. Unless you're just buying bits and bobs, like a cable or two, it's kinda tricky to buy much in the way of computer gear without spending at least that.

I seem to remember that initially, there was no actual minimum spend on this offer, and Scan just asked people not to abuse it. From the fact that a minimum then appeared, I assume too many people didn't respect that request and did abuse it.

Fan seems decent enough and the unit preforms well.
These HSF were good with the cheapest Xbow bracket to bolt it all securely thru the mobo but the required bracket seems to have been dropped from the site since I got mine?
