Ton's Hardware did a comparison & concluded that they all had there own pros with no obvious HDD as clear winner.
The Hitachi was adjudged to be the most balanced overall & had the highest minimum transfer rates.

The 1tb Hitachi I had this week from you is made in China, not as quiet and has more vibration than the one I got a few months back.
Ok its cheaper now but has anyone else noticed a difference too?

Yes the new Hitachi 7k1000.b models seem light years away from the deathstars they replace (!)

Low heat output too, much lower than competitor drives I have experienced.
