Looking for a new cooler for 1156 and DVD RW.

    Hi all

I'm looking /thinking of getting a new P55 + i7 setup when their out and need a new cooler but I have a height limit (136mm) in the case I have and don't want to change it.

So far these are the two I'm looking at:
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro v2
    LN28632
    Arctic Cooling Freezer Xtreme Rev.2
    LN25672

Scan don't list the Xtreme Rev.2 as having a 1156 bracket but over at Arctic Cooling site it lists it:
    http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalo...h=1_42&mID=245
So what I'm asking is did the Xtreme Rev.2 always come with a 1156 bracket or do I have to hope a get one?

As for a new DVD RW my one seems to read some CD/DVD but not others (tried new firmware) yet the ones it can't read work fine in a old DVD drive. Problem is it needs to be Silver which are hard to get so what I'm thinking is I have a Optiarc AD-7170S can I put the bezel on the AD-7240S ?

    Thanks

    Which motherboard you getting/got?

I've noticed the EVGA P55 boards have a LGA 775 mounting holes as well as 1156. - Not sure if other companies are using this yet.

From what I've seen most 1156 coolers are pretty terrible right now, maybe best waiting off a bit.

DVD RW... I wont give a reference because I'm not too sure on this, as from what I've seen anything from LG, Samsung etc are reliable and fine, so I'd just aim for a nice cheap one. Thats what I'll be doing.

However you can google the names of a selection in your budget to see if theirs any reviews going around for them.

I can't see how 1156 coolers are terrible since why should they be? The 1156 CPU's are going to run less hotter then the 1366 did.

Looking (not got) at the GIGABYTE P55-UD4 but did see the EVGA P55 with LGA 775 mounting holes...but really I want a new cooler.

    Not all of them

Just that I read a bittech review of 5 1156 coolers out at the moment and they were quite disapointing. Thats all I'm basing it from, maybe they were unlucky
