    Corsair F Series SSD's

Is Scan aware that there have been major problems with these SSD's?

Everyone's waiting for a firmware update. SSD is not being detected by bios on some boards and random BSOD's. Check out the Corsair forum:

I am speaking with Corsair about this, it sounds as if it all boils down to a firmware release, which is due. Does this issue also affect you personally as well ?

That's a rather broad statement. The vast majority of users are not having issues at all. Those that are having issues after taking the steps offered by tech support should be taken care of with the upcoming firmware.

    Re: Corsair F Series SSD's

Mine died far too quickly (~24hrs), but it was a cracking drive while it worked.

When the F120s drop in price a bit more I'll likely take the risk and get one for my 11.6" notebook.

Hi. Yes it affects me. Not sure whether to return mine or wait for an update but at present it's a brick.

    If its bricked return it.

How are you expected to update firmware on something thats bricked ?

    +1

And anyway, why should you be sitting around with a useless HDD waiting for firmware with no ETA?

    I'd get it swapped ASAP.

Sorry I didn't mean it literally. It works with some boards and not with others. I was told if Scan test it and it works then no refund or exchange.

    Re: Corsair F Series SSD's

Yellowbeard has confirmed this isn't an issue for the majority of people as confirmed in the corsair forums, a drive isn't working in one system will work in another so is more of a compatibility issue.

We suggest waiting for the firmware update as returning the drive under RMA could result in NFF, due to the reason above.

We will stay in contact with Corsair about this issue and keep you all updated.

    Best Regards

    What is NFF?

Why am I not surprised with your statement?

Yes but the problem is with the drive not with my system. The firmware might never arrive? There are definitely sufficient grounds for rma. I'm still within 28 days.

Yes I agree it is not an issue for athe majority of people but it is an issue for a significant amount of people.

    NFF = No Fault Found...

We have not said you can't return the drive to be tested, but the issues seem to be a compatibility problem, not a fault with the drives. Please feel free to raise an Returns query if you wish.

    Regards
