As they say .... " good things come to those who wait :) " but after checking for you, like the nice guy that I am, we are expecting the cards in stock in approximately 2 weeks ( hopefully it will be sooner :) )
As soon as I hear anything else - I'll let you know
Best Regards
Lee
I spoke to NVIDIA and heard end of this week.....
well I'll shoot Peter David as thats what he informed me. I'll try and get a more exact date and report back later.
Best Regards
Lee
Thanks for checking guys, one thing I thought I may bring up is that the evil ocuk just told me they will definitly 100% have it by the end of this week, I cancelled from them and went with Hexus/Scan coz you better ;) but also said you would be first.
Ive just ordered one :D, Any idea if I will get one in the first batch?
Name : Ryan Munro
Havent yet got a email through with my order number...
You may not get into the first batch, a sales rep I spoke to the other day said there had been alot of pre-orders. I did mine a few weeks back and was told I was within the first 7 :cool:Quote:

Any idea of an update? OCUK were very confident about before the end of the week for their stock and you guys said you would be first?Quote:

Just checked my bank balance and the availiable funds are donw by around £400, Does this mean you have the cards in stock? If not I would appreciate you not taking any money untill you have stock.
Email from scan last night:
Estimated Lead Date = 01/06/2004
Which is fine by me :) There's no point hopping around vendors. It still looks like XFX will ship first, although everything points to Nvidia organising a global launch date of 7th June, so don't be suprised if things slip another week.
Trust us guys you will not get these cards from any other supplier first. Scan are proud to be able to guarantee we will be first.
To put a stop to the overclockers rumours here you go :

This is not true, you have placed an order understanding there is an unknown lead time. Normally when you order goods your card is charged before they are delivered.Quote:

as far as I was aware one the goods come into stock they then charge your card then ship?, whenn whatever as long as I get the card :D
Hence this is a pre-order, not an out of stock order.
"Please regard this email as an active notification of a delay in your order, due to a temporary shortage in stock of the following item/s:
1. 256Mb XFX 6800Ultra DDR3 T/D
Estimated Lead Date = 04/06/2004"
You can just tell that the 7th is the magic date :)
When did you recieve that email?
Friday, May 28, 2004 6:48:21 PM
:)
Yea I got that email too, looks like ill be getting one from the first batch :D
New drivers :) as we reported..

And Monday is (drum role please.....drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) The 7th!
:)
NVIDIA are realeasing their mega driver on that monday too... hence another delay.... (so they might be holding strings on consumers to ensure they get the best performance.
to be honest it was really to be expected that they delayed it slightly while they tinkered with the drivers etc to get the best performance out of the card. As soon as I hear any info from any of the suppliers - I'll post it here so you can all be informed at the same time.
Best Regards
Lee
I still havnt been recieving updates, apparently my card is gonna arrive on the 25/05/2004 :)
Lee any chance you can look into why my order isnt recieving these updates?
Some salesman at Scan just told me 18th June ?

I hope so anyway :)
evga in the states have started a weekly draw to win their 6800U so I assume that they plan to ship the winning card this week some time.
Also, in the states, compusa has received a shipment from PNY, which I guess will make them available later this week.
Well I was within the first 7 to place an order and there was no mention of anything shipping today.Quote:

Scan supposedly has a very close working relationship with Nvidia UK (they run the official shop!) so I would hope that they would be the first to ship. On the other hand there's alway the possibilities that someone imports a few from Japan or HK..
I know that Nvidia UK sent out developer boards only last week so there must be *some* in the UK!
Aah the good people at Scan have fixed my order and I am now getting updates again:
Estimated Lead Date = 09/06/2004
:(
:( :(
eep, lets hope it doesnt slip anymore
Just remember it will be worth the wait :)
More bad news for the 6800 - looks like gainward have slipped with all thier 6800 products to about the 28th June! I can't see XFX being that far ahead :(
Time to cancel me thinks.
Gainward are always late to market compared to others.Quote:

Another retailer (ccl) has just provided a lead time of 18-19 days for the XFX ultra.
I hope scans 'special' relationship with Nvidia is REALY special :)
too see how special scans relationship with nvidia is please see the following url ;
http://www.nvidia.co.uk/page/home
and check the bottom right hand side of the page.
As soon as I get some concrete information regarding these cards - I will update you all :)
until then... we can only "guestimate" ETA's of delivery.
Best Regards
Lee
Any further update? the last update I got was that they were expected last friday
That's why I cancelled. Sales people saying 'definately Friday or Monday' and then... nothing.
To be fair its nVidia / XFX messing around not Scan.
Yes. To be fair.Quote:

On the other hand, Scan have been keen to point out their close links to Nvidia UK, which would lead you to beleive that perhaps they would have a better idea of what's actually going on :)
As far as I can tell, the delays are due partially to nVidia's new drivers (which improve performance dramatically, and so ideally should be bundled with the cards) and with the production yields at IBM. There were even rumours of increasing clock speeds to improve competitiveness with ATI, which could push back the release date, but this seems to be a mere rumour.
Gainward are now saying the end of June for their cards, and Gigabyte mid-June, so I guess we'll have to wait and see. Naturally retailers just have to sit and wait.
Kind Regards
I dont think you should discount those increased core clocked rumours so quickly ;) My understanding is that XFX and other companies have some stock ready to ship but are simply waiting for the nod from nVidia with some drivers and maybe a bios flash.
Any updates?
Last email I had stated tomorrow, I think we close they are starting to show up in Euro and States now.
As in we will get em tommorow?
No these cards are still not in stock, delivery will definately NOT be tomorrow.
Sorry Guys :O)
17th ?!? God damn.... really was expecting them this week. And Gainward BEFORE XFX ?! That cant be happening ?
I will be majorly peed off if Gainward make it before XFX as I only went XFX to ensure I get it as soon as humanly possible in the UK.
You said you checked with nVidia? Not sure how that works as I believe XFX already have the cards and ready to ship ?
And the 17th is f**in useless as thats a thursday, meaning scan dont ship until friday earliest ....
Is that the stupidly expensive one?Quote:

The one he is referring to is about £600+ which I believe you will agree is stupidly expensive ? :D
Yea re-read it PD, it does say "for dispatch" ... I'll forgive you that one ;)
PD is now part of team Hexus??
OMG!!
  :shocked2: :inquisiti
1. 256Mb XFX 6800Ultra DDR3 T/D
Estimated Lead Date = 24/06/2004
You want to know what is REALLY funny ?
I'm booked to go on the Nvidia Developer Conference on the 28th & 29th June here in the UK and guess what - NOBODY IS GOING TO HAVE ANY OF THE B*$£##! things before then anyway!
I think ive just got a email to say my card has been dispatched
WHAT ?! From Scan? I was within the first 7 to pre-order ! Is it the XFX 6800 Ultra?
Actualy not dispatched but picked :
The real time status of your invoice is: Stage 3 of 4
1. Invoice printed / Awaiting authorisation - 25 May 2004 09:42:00
2. Payment authorised - 10 Jun 2004 09:16:00
3. Order picked / Awaiting despatch - 10 Jun 2004 09:17:00
4. Order despatched
We will aim to dispatch your order today to meet the estimated time of arrival we have calculated. If there are any delays we will send further email notification.
Gonna call em tommorow, I think this is a cock up as a emailed em to cancel this yesterday.
The thing that makes me think its a cock up is that it says payment authorised today when it was actualy taken weeks ago.
This is what happens when you cancel. I got a similar email a few minutes after cancelling via email ealier in the week :)
Mind you I also got an email saying 'ignore any emails you receive regarding this order'
So, there you go, no 6800's :(
Aah yea I cancelled with em before as well. I think it needs to go all the way through their system in order to finish.
Whew!
Cool, Wish they would have emailed me back to confirm the cancel, do they usualy take about 5 days to get the cash back into my account?
nope, ive now canceld my order
So much for the scan 'special relationship' with Nvidia!
First 6800 product to hit the UK is at Komplett
Going.... Going......
"Gainward GeForce 6800 Ultra 256MB DDR3 AGP, "CoolFX Ultra/2600 GS" 450Plus mhz,"
Availability: 1 stocked
Well Just the ONE and it's the CoolFX variety :)
Even I aint crazy enough to pay £600 for one.
Scan has supplied a UK review site with a retail sample of the XFX 6800 Ultra
http://www.trustedreviews.com/articl...d=15&page=1115
So I guess they maybe have some more for anyone who hasn't cancelled their order yet!
Scan did not supply it at all XFX did. We have the same card here now, TR don't :P. Scan is where you can buy one.
Quote:
The card that XFX sent in for review was clocked higher than the reference board we looked at – the GPU is clocked at 450MHz and the memory at 1100MHz, which is about as fast as you’re likely to find any 6800 Ultra card.
"Scan is where you can buy one."
I Wish :)
The availability of XFX cards has just been pushed back again by distributors to the 1st July (was 25th June). Having said that, scan may be getting cards directly from XFX, but who knows ?!
Scan will get direct.... I spoke to XFX this is getting a bit hard though.
What do you mean by:
?Quote:

They are getting them direct from XFX, but it is getting harder to get someoen to put a date on anything now-a-days
I am still hopeful that its end of next week as now the reviews are popping up of retail cards and Scan sent me two delay updates a week apart both same date! (thats a first).
Just checked with Scan, apparently XFX have said that 15 XFX 6800 Ultras are coming into the UK tomorrow. 10 of which are going to Scan :D :D I know I am one of the first to pre-order so hopefully that means I will have a 6800 Ultra to play with at the weekend !!
Ok good news .... We have recieved some of the XFX cards from our suppliers, however the bad news is that we only recieved 5 instead of the 10 we should have got.
The cards will be dispatched to the people that first placed there order therefore I would advise most people that ordered say around 12th May and before to keep an eye on there email later tonight to see if the cards have been dispatched.
Regards,
Thanks for the update Carl :)
*stares at mobile*
There are 40 coming in to the UK in the next 2 days - 10 were supposed to go to Scan, minimum
Yes we was suppose to be getting at least 10 however there are still some outstanding on that order.
I should imagine that we should get the outstanding cards either tomorrow or monday, but either way I shall keep you all upto date.

If you want a standard 6800 (non-ultra...)

Welcome to the crazy, crazy world of the NV40
That's interesting, as it's the first 6800 non-Ultra I've seen with GDDR3 memory. By my reckoning we now have 128Mb/256Mb DDR, 128Mb/256Mb DDR2, 128Mb GDDR3 boards!Quote:
