Ordered a 3XS system via website (total cost £2600 or so including VAT), and chose to pay £30 or so to get it delivered on a Saturday. Saturday 21st August I believe. Took out a 9 months interest free credit option because... interest free!
Well, turns out that applying for credit wasn't an instant process, relying on snail mail and so forth. Fine. I don't move until 4th August, and at no point in the ordering process was there any mention of delays, goods out of stock etc. Had I been aware that on 6th August build wouldn't have even started, I would have just not ordered, or waited until after I moved.
Called today to advise of new address: apparently that's a problem because of the finance. Not really my problem though? Also, not likely to see the system until at least next week. But then I will be back in work... Sad times.
Turns out only the case is out of stock. I suggested swapping in the next one up. Nice gesture of goodwill given the size of the delay so far, etc. Yep, next case up isn't a problem and you will charge me the difference? That's not goodwill. That's just... making me sadder.
Told the gentleman I was speaking to that I'd just like to cancel my order then, and be returned to the state I would be in had I not ordered (which I wouldn't have if I'd been advised at any point that there would be a 2-4 week gap between ordering and receiving). He couldn't deal with that so had to end the call and get someone to call me back.
While I wait, I type. And smoke. Scan, you have driven me back to cigarettes after 17 days without. That makes me sad too.
Can someone help me away from the Dark Side? Please? Because sadness leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. And smoking will make me sound like Darth Vadar.
