I was looking at some Corsair Value Select RAM, but I noticed that they had a CAS of 3. Everywhere else I have looked, such as Komplett, states that it is CAS2.5. So is Scan correct and they are CAS3, or are they actually CAS2.5?
Thanks
Mike

"Well, there was your Uncle Tiberius who died wrapped in cabbage leaves but we assumed that was a freak accident."
I have a gig of that it one of my machines and it's 2.5 without a doubt. Got mine from Ebuyer, not sure if there are different versions of it but mines 8-3-3-2.5 by default but I have it running at 5-2-2-2.5.

Is that 2.5-2-2-5 running at stock volts on 200FSB ? Or overclocked while maintaining those timings ?
Seems pretty impressive, and a little pointless to go for Corsair XL series if the only difference in timings (at stock speeds) will be 2.5 as compared to 2.
Generally, the value ram series I have owned in the past (Geil/Twinmos/Corsair/Adata) hit abt 230FSB tops with 2.85v @ 2.5-3-3-6 which aint all that bad.
That's 2.85v at 200FSB, they do have heatspreaders on them though.

Not bad for 100 odd quid i say, though I havent seen a lot of people hitting those timings. Its usually the Ras to Cas value which lets it down most of the time.
I work for scan, before anyone starts correcting me i have read the posts here about the Cas on the value select being 2.5, however i bought some last week and it clearly states on the actual modules that they are PC3200 Cas 3 i have clocked it to 2.5 anyway but as standard they come as Cas 3.
