Tips on using the product Keyword filter to show better results on scan.co.uk

Hey guys

Using the product category [ SSD - 2.5" - SATA III - (50GB - 180GB) ] as an example
I am trying to narrow down my SSD results to 120GB and 128GB SSD's but when I put the keywords in the following formats I get no results:

• 120GB, 128GB
• 120GB 128GB
• 120GB or 128GB

If I use the main site search I get all sorts of results making it impossible to narrow down what I want to see.
Any tips on how to use the filters to show the items I want to look at?

Scan need a proper filtering system like most other sites. The current method is barmy

That at least means I'm not going mad just yet.

In the end I just used 1 keyword filter and put 2 pages side by side. Still a little difficult to compare and when im serious enough to part with monies, I may go scientific and pop it all in a spreadsheet so its on one easy to read page.

I tried " Description a-z " and this sorted the category with all 120GB and then 128GB SSD's listed below.

I will speak to the programming dept about using multiple keywords, within the Keywords box.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the suggestion which mostly works, however, there are 3 Samsungs which appear at the bottom of the list as their description starts with a letter as opposed to a number. So it makes it a little difficult comparing as you are still having to scroll the list.

The summary information displayed is perfect and one of the reasons I like using Scan, it makes it easier to compare products at a glance.

It seems to me like there is just a little glitch as the field is represented as "Keyword(s)" implying multiples should be allowed.

The 3 new Samsung SSD's Havant had the description built yet but they will be listed with the Capacity shown first shortly...

I'm speaking with Programming again now about the Keyword(s) field to see how we can improve this based on your feedback.

I've just be shown the new system for the Advanced Search and Keyword system, were actually already redesigning the whole system, which will improve this by a large degree..

I'm not sure when exactly this will launch but watch this space
