    Refund without Consent

I purchased the G9 COD edition mouse 2 months ago using Q collect/today only. I thought I'd pick it up next time I'm in Bolton. I admit six weeks is a long time but why was the payment refunded to me without my consent, assuming I no longer required the item?

    Re: Refund without Consent

Really? Can someone either confirm this is actually fadsarmy and not a hijacked account or ban this user?

All the recent posts, which have been in the SCAN section have been troll style posts that server to do nothing other than attempt to paint SCAN in a bad light, with baseless claims

    fadsarmy

The order was placed on - 09/08/2012 11:23:51.

We confirmed on the 27/09 by our Customer Service dept..

    "
    Thank you for your email,

The order has been pending since August, we assumed you no longer require the goods as they were not collected. I will arrange for order *edited* to be also refunded.

    Regards.
    "

The Q-Collect system was designed for same day collections so queues are avoided, we do hold stock for a period of time but not indefinitely.

    Chris

    Re: Refund without Consent

You assumed wrong. But I paid for it so how can you assume I no longer required it? A simple email would have sufficed.

You mean apart from the e-mail that you were quoted by Chris P?

And you really expected people to think otherwise?

You also expected the item to be held for 6 weeks or until you could be bothered to collect the item?

I stand by my first post, rather than troll just the forums, you are trolling SCAN.

    Re: Refund without Consent

I imagine it's somewhere in their T&C's, about holding goods for a certain period, or for arranging alternative delivery.

They're not a storage service for yourself. If you weren't going to pick it up for several months either order it when you are going to be in the area, or get it delivered...

If it were me I'd be charging you a storage fee.

Maybe if you took the time to read the OPs post and ChrisPs response PROPERLY you would see that the only person trolling here is you!

Go through fads previous posts in the scan section and you will see what I mean. I am not trolling in the slightest.

    Person orders Q Collect
Decides he will take at least 6 weeks before collecting item
Doesn't inform SCAN that he won't be collecting it until he is next in Bolton / can be bothered collecting it
Person doesn't collect in reasonable time
    SCAN refund
    Person complains

Again, why would anyone, realistically think that an item, ordered via QCollect would be held for 6 weeks?

Because I do it regularly and it is held indefinitely. This is the first time this has happened. It is not unusual for me to collect even after 4 months. Once I've paid it's mine.

4 months? I'd be charging you for storage space for that length of time

What if loads of people behaved like that? Scan would need a massive warehouse which would be fully of stuff waiting to be collected.
Hell scan offer a free delivery service for regular members of this forum so just drop a comment in a thread every now and again and stop whinging!

I thought that the benefit of Q-Collect was that if there was an item you needed in a hurry you could order it and if your are local or within an easy distance of the store just go and pick it up having paid for it online. I don't understand why someone would pay for an item and leave it waiting for collection for even more than 48 hours, it could have been delivered in that time.

As for leaving an item for 4 months after the invoice date that means you've lost a third of your 12 month warranty on most goods.

Also where would I stand if I did this and then found that the item was DOA. It would be outside of the 30 days from invoice by that point?

So they can come and complain as if they have some grounds too, where if someone had used their brains, then the outcome would have been obvious.
