    Re: help

i think i fixed it it turns out my mains into the psu wasnt plugged in completely so gpu wasnt getting enough power etc and the bsods must have happened because of that and corrupted windows files from all the crashes so i did a repair install fixed which fixed almost everything except for darksiders 2 crashing. Which i fixed by going into loads of different forums and found that without vsync forced in the nvidia panel darksiders will crash fixed that and im home free in time for assassins creed which i found out is coming on the 20th of november ARRGGHGHH lol

    Re: help

Well Kernel 41 is explained here : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2028504

Doesn't sound driver related sounds like your power supply or lack of power to run your components imo.

Judging by the More information section of that KB and the fact you added RAM recently it may be linked.

I would take out a few sticks or maybe even better would be to stick the old ones back in and see how it runs. If you still have the old ones in there I would check the settings are correct(The KB mentions this too) and maybe remove the old sticks if they are differing speeds/spec.

Your spec mentions 3.5 TB on multiple drives? How many? That could be effecting it or at least a cause now you have added more RAM.
But if the system was working fine until this upgrade I would remove the sticks and see how it plays first before looking at RMAs etc.

Also run a memory checker if you want.

    Re: help

i have 4 hdds a 256 samsung 830 series ssd i ran and a corsair hx 650w memtest for like half an hour without any errors i started to play other games for like an hour sessions and they played problem free so it could be that darksiders 2 is just a bad port. but i have a feeling that some bios settings need to be changed (i had to make a few changes b4 as asus are a little buggy) and all the asus software that came with the mobo keep crashing and i started to get an error message that somehing in programs needs to be renamed so i uninstalled them and it stopped. this pc was starting to make depressed with all these different problems but it seems to be okay i will run memtest for like a few hours later when i get a chance. thanks again for the suggestions

    Re: help

When you want to diagnose a component individually (e.g RAM)... it's a better idea to boot off a Linux live cd and run a memory test from there. This will rule out any windows / drivers problems. Make sure to remove all the RAM and test each stick of memory individually

    Re: help

okay all of my above suspected causes etc turned out to be bs what happened was i was getting random crashes without bsods so i did a repair install (which must have crashed during the back or reinstall of my w7 and my stuff so thats the cause of the driver errors) i did a clean install and there hasn't been any bsods but i still get crashes when i game so i think its the psu
