    AMD FX8320 Core Died

ok, have a AMD fx8320, after 4 days running, it would not boot windows or ubuntu, ubuntu was kind enough to provide me with kernal panic on microcore 5. after turning this core (4 + 5 ) off in bios, the computer boots, thus confirming to me the diagnosis of a dead core - ordered new one from scan. just wondering - will you refund me on first one i ordered? as really couldnt afford to outlay the money i had to. i ordered a new one as i couldnt really wait to have a RMA or Scansure done, as cannot be without PC. also - has anyone else had this problem? or have i just been unlucky?

    regards, Matthew

It'll be under warranty mate so scan will refund you

Your technically still within your 7 day cooling off period also so your within your rights to send it back as long as you tell them your doing so. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Was this at stock speeds or are you overclocking the FX processor?

    Re: AMD FX8320 Core Died

thought id update here, even though not recived too much help. new cpu arrived 28th, (sent old back) installed, turned the cores back on in bios, windows 8 booted, loaded, and is very happy. definate core death. now to see what scan RMA department say...... will be running prime overnight to check stability.... after the last cpu, dont think im even considering overclocking after it blew a core at stock :O

Blew core at stock speeds? Was your cooling adequate?
Would say was probably dodgy right when arrived, you just let it go away quietly
So how did it turned out, got a refund and is the new CPU working all right?
