    New Monitor: LG vs. Samsung

I've spent the last couple of days researching monitors to replace my current 19".

The two that I have seen that really catch my eye are:

    LG:

    Samsung:

Now, I know the basic specifications for monitors, but I am somewhat clueless when it comes to the fine nitty-gritty details - but obviously I want the best for my money!

Which one would you go for and why?

What would you say about the [23" AOC I2352VH IPS LED Monitor with HDMI] you can buy from Scan.co.uk?
Costs a bit more that your two candidates (£110 vs £115 vs £125), but I hear good things about the AOC and seen it on (in a local IT shop).
The awards it received are not just for show.

Re: New Monitor: LG vs. Samsung

I use an IPS235v and the image quality is better than all the TN panels i have used with it being an cheap IPS, but not sure if it has the same slightly wobbly stand as the 235.
So i would say the LG especially if you have a sturdy desk.

Re: New Monitor: LG vs. Samsung

I would definitely recommend an IPS panel as in the LG monitor over the TN panel found in the Samsung, unless you are into very fast paced gaming. Despite this, recent displays from LG seem to have met a fairly poor reception. Consider looking at the Asus VS229 or the HP 22xi.

Hope this is of some help
