Corsair psu failure

Hello, I bought a corsair Ax760i from you a week ago, and today when I turned it on I got the blue smoke of death, with accompanying crackle and pop from the psu. The unit is completely dead, the self test switch fails, and annoyingly its killed the whole PC. I have a 3xs oc bundle, an amd 1090T and a saber tooth 990fx, and the CPU_led flickers twice then shuts down when I tried to start it using the old psu I have. Two questions, do I Rma the psu to you or direct to corsair, and does my 3xs warranty cover death by faulty psu?

Wow, all I can say is wow I would never thought that such a advanced PSU could fail, let alone kill the whole computer.

I would say RMA the PSU directly to Scan.co.uk, and about the bundle warranty I suggest to read the T&C.

It was quite impressive, lots of smoke everywhere >< I'm not holding out much hope on the CPU, its not their fault. At least amd is cheaper than Intel ^^ set up the Rma today, will hopefully get it sorted next week

Wow. That's unexpected from a corsair product. They're usually incredibly well built. Must be a rare manufacturing mishap.

RMA'd the bundle and Psu to scan, now just have to wait and see the result

Good luck, DJ I hope you get sorted in quick fashion. Like others, I'm surprised a Corsair product (and one from the ax range) took out the rest of your pc.

Right, it has returned! And it sort of works. Quick turnaround at scan, which was much appreciated, but now the board wont play sound and wont connect to the internet >< On the plus side, I only had a HDD killed by the dodgy psu, so it could have been worse. Time to reply back on the email, see how much of the board was tested.

Whups, forgot to update this. Board and bundle has been rma'd to Scan, who tried replacing the board and found it was still unstable. Its been shipped off to Asus to see what they can do about it. Very glad I bought the cheapest possible mobo/cpu combo to tide me over, international shipping isn't always the fastest XD

I dunno, the one I've had since has been fine, no matter what brand you buy there's always a small risk that its going to fail. I was just unlucky that mine failed so spectacularly

I sent my Corsair PSU back due to a faulty fan controller & I'm not the only one to have this problem, I bought a be quiet! in the end and have had NO issues....

The new corsair PSU's seem to have problems, check out the Corsair website under the Power supply thread !
