Question Considering buying two or three LG IPS234V screens

    Hi guys

I'm looking at either buying two or three of LN46031.

I want to get them from Scan as I can drive to pick them up. However, I would like to know what the dead pixel policy is. I would be gutted if any of them had just one dead pixel.

I know if I bought them from Amazon and if I had an issue with them at all, even just a dead pixel I would be able to get it replaced. I want to just be rest assured as to whether that would be the case if I bought from Scan.

Also, people are reporting that the ms for the screen is incorrect on third party sites (including yours). Someone said he contacted LG and they were told it was 5ms and not 12ms - can you find this out?

    Thanks.

    Mark

If your driving to pick them up, couldn't you inspect each one before actually buying?

There used to be published dead pixel policies on scans product pages but cant see it now.

    Heres one from LG: http://lgknowledgebase.com/kb/index....y&EntryID=6481

    Another maybe useful: http://www.tested.com/tech/1337-we-u...jor-lcd-maker/

Perhaps you should instead take delivery of the monitors and then as far as I can see that gives you opportunity to reject under DSR should they have maybe one dead/lit pixel that falls outside of warranty replacement scope?

If you buy them over the counter then DSR doesnt apply, unsure if using Q-collect as its actually a distance order but picked up from their premises!
Perhaps someone can clarify that point?

Re: Considering buying two or three LG IPS234V screens

I've had a few LG screens (including TV's) and have never spotted a dead pixel on any of them. I'm currently using an LG IPS235V which is a decent screen, although it doesn't have the fastest pixel response times for gaming (as with most IPS screens), but it's still ok for gaming . The LG panels with dead pixels usually get used in those cheap Korean imports (Shimian, Catleap, Crossover etc...).

I doubt they'd let me open it up and test it... Let alone two or three.

Hmmm I think I might just order them from Amazon, especially if Scan aren't going to reply.

Especially if as you say Amazon will pay to return or replace them even with a single dead pixel

I ordered them both from Amazon.

Both screen were dead pixel free (from what I could see).

    Cracking screens - highly recommend...
