    Problem installing gainward 6800 Gt GS in Abit AV8 3rd eye

    Hello Peeps,
    Its pete from totallycustomised again.
    Just found a problem installing Gainward 6800GT golden sample in Abit AV8 3rd eye mobo.
    Have left info on knowledge base and its awaiting submission.
    Basically the card touches the capacitors before it sits properly into AGP slot.
    Pics are available here ---->http://www.totallycustomised.co.uk/gainward/
    Maybe add them to mobo knowledge base too

    EDIT:
    Modified card to fit.
    Its a little crude but it works
    New pics up there too.

    Hi,

    I have the same problem. I’m in two minds weather or not to send the motherboard back or mod the video card. Gigabyte have released the GA-K8NSNXP-939 which looks a little better than the Abit board, but I’m not sure if it will have sufficient clearance. As I’m making this comp for a friend I’m a little reluctant to hack off the end of the heatsink. I’m not even sure if it will bend at all.

    Would be grateful for any help/suggestions.

    Thanks

    It would depend on how long you have had the motherboard. I would advise you contact our returns department either by telephone or alternatively by using the web interface below ;

    Best Regards,
