What is going on with scan's distribution? its shocking

I placed an order on the 23rd of Jan for 2 items that were in stock, money was taken on the 24th but no goods have been picked, every day I have the same conversation with customer care about how busy scan have been, since christmas and how they have a back log and 500 customers are in the same position and it is being delt with.
This is a problem scan is aware of & yet there is no warning when order was placed that there could be delay, even the confirmation email confidently stated delivery by the 25th .
i'm posting here to hopefully get an answer from someone and, from looking at other threads, some help with geting this order through.

This is the first time i've used scan as i've hear good reports. Recently I bought from Ebuyer they missed their stated delivery date by one day with one of the items ordered and refunded the all the delivery automatically.

i get the feeling this isn't isolated - i'm up to my second "sorry, we're too busy to throw kit in a box & mail it" message and expecting a third one at 20:15 tonight. things ordered from 3 other places on the same day, including a guy with a soldering iron in germany, has already arrived & been assembled, but i've got a showstopper on parts i got from scan (whom i've had no toruble with in the past)
