Nova T card not working :(

well, the card seems to be ok, just when i run the wintv2000 software and try to scan for channels, it stops responding, i removed everything and reinstalled using the latest drivers + wintv2000 version but is still does it

when the windows message pops up it says the mod name is hcwtvwnd.dll which im thinking could mean a driver problem?

either way its really annoying me that i cant even attempt to use this card

btw - which windows version are you using?

As Mort said - what OS you using as there is a few updates on the hauppauge site and newer versions of the drivers

Please check if the software you are using is the most current and if not the newer versions can be found on the following url ;

thanx for the advice guys, the software is now working but apon scanning via the auto tune it goes right through but then just stops after the blue bar gets to the end which i guess means its not finding anything whatsoever which could mean id need a new aerial i guess or should a message pop up saying nothing found ??

Right... I have had this happen on me and it turned out my antenna wasn't connected as it fell out when I put the PC down into position, so if your antenna is connected then its not picking up a digital signal.

(yes...even I can have blonde days folks )

If you have any other antenna points such as one downstairs or whereever I suggest you try that and scan to see if any channels are picked up

theres the one that we get from ntl, i tried the one on the roof and the ntl one, both to no avail

ok, thanx wildmonkey, but the card and software seems to be ok, just cant get and channels, so for now im blaming my rly old aerial

I have a nova t USB version and I had similar problems. However my machine was due a reload (yeah every 3 months) and that seemed to sort the problem. I used the latest drivers off hauppage instead of the original cd

I had similar issues with my Nova-T installation when trying to get it to work in Windows Media Centre 2005. A Quick reinstall for me with the updated WHQL drivers and the updated nvidia codecs for MPEG2 Support and voila I'm recording BBC3 and shows like Doctor Who with ease.

Indeed I also had that problem with my MCE-150... re-softwaring does seem to fix so much (was a clash with the via onboard vga chipset in my case)
