Problems with CORSAIR 2G 40x CF and Canon 350D

Hi support people,

I'm having some issues with a Corsair memory card

CORSAIR/CF/2GB
Product Desc. CORSAIR 2GB COMPACT FL 40X

Serial Number 916229319

with my digital camera, a canon 350D

Can you please confirm that the above mentioned card should work correctly with a canon 350D digital SLR?

I'm getting Err 99 when i try and format it on the camera,

does the camera work ok with a different memory card? as err99 is apparantly a lens error

the camera works just fine with 2 other memory cards, one a sandisk 256Mb, and the other a jessops 256Mb one

Cannon tech support said that err 99 was a card incompatibility error, they may well have been lying however the bloke didn't seem that knoledgeable? Where did you get the err number lookup from?

i just googled for err99 and had a peep at dpreview and most of the reults mentioned lens problems

have you tried formatting the card in a computer and then in the camera

thanks da_ging, I did some googling (is that a verb? ) and it looks like err 99 is a non specific connectivity error. I cleaned all of the contacts, lens, and battery and it seems to be working OK.
