    Problems with new machine

    Hi guys

Last night i was having a few problems with my new computer. It was crashing and i got a few blue screens, but the computer restarted before i got a chance to read what they said, this was whilst running Azureus Bit Torrent client. I uninstalled this and i had no further problems, reinstalled it and still no problems and it was running all last night with no apparent problems either. I aren't too worried because i was able to play quake 4 all last night with no problems. I've installed Mcafee enterprise 8.0 which i get free from uni and did a scan and no viruses were found. Have you got any ideas as to what may have been causing it to crash?

    Thanks

    Andy

P.S. if anyone can recommend a better antivirus than Mcafee i would appreciate it because it's too much of a system hog and when the on access scan is enabled it won't allow mIRC to start the only reason i'm using it is because i get it free.

    Hi,

You would be wise to ring the system support line that you should have on your invoice,

On a side note i have been using Bitdefender9 and i have found it to be really good, really easy to use, takes very little to no system resources, i would deffo recommend it, and its cheap to

Yea install Avast, it is free and works quite well. If you need a firewall, try Zonealarm,.

Arghh don't mention zonealarm, after reading the recent articles about it possibly being spyware i won't go near it and it messed up my dads computer too, windows firewall will do for now.
