    VGA cooler for 7800 GS

I received my XFX 7800 GS AGP today. Thanks Scan

Now, does anyone know of a replacement cooler for this card as the supplied fan is a screamer!!!!!

The Arctic Cooler NV5 I had on my 6800 won't fit the 7800GS because the layout has changed

Theres a new Artic cooling cooler due out shortly which a few people have enquired about already. As such I've passed this to the purchasing team to see if we can source these items.

    Best Regards,

Well neither Zalman nor Arctic Cooling have responded to my emails (which is pretty annoying).

So, Lee, if you can find anything out through Scan I'll be much pleased (and not so deaf )

Will a passive sink still fit, under the VF-700Cu?
Oh, and if you do get it, I reckon the LED version is worth the extra quid or two, it does look nice...

Found some info on the XFX Forums. May be a problem with plastic. I'll try mine at home tonight and report back.

    Fingers crossed.

    It works!!!!!!!

Peace is restored in the BlueBall household

Basically, you need a jewellers screwdriver to remove the 5 or 6 tiny screws holding the thin aluminium plate in place over the fan housing. On the back of the plate is a sticky polythene sheet which the fan rubs against to make the screeching noise.

Peel off nasty polythene substance, replace aluminium plate, reinsert graphics card, reattach all cables and reboot.

    Peace, perfect peace.

Now why didn't XFX do that?
