    Hiper Type-R 580w

I've had my Hiper Type-R 580w PSU for about a year now and been very pleased with it, over the last month though I've been experiencing random PC freezes and restarts, after removing a component (Soundblaster X-Fi front bay.) I thought all was well and on Friday night went ahead with a small upgrade of CPU, Motherboard and graphics card. All went well and ran fine. I was away from the house for a day and the PC was off, after returning on Sunday afternoon I could smell a faint burning in the air and had absolutely no power from the PC.
Upon removing the PSU it was clear that was where the burning smell was coming from and that the PSU had died.

I've contacted Hiper about this but they've yet to reply :/ I wondered if I was still entitled to a replacement via Scan?

I had one of these go in a similar way. It melted itself into the 4 pin 12V ATX connection too - trashed the motherboard!

    (Neither were from Scan)

Luckily enough, my PC was off at the time, so it didn't manage to take anything out, good job too because I'd just changed my motherboard CPU and Graphics Card!!

Thanks Chris, I've registered the query directly to Scan (copied my message from here) and mentioned I was reffered by you
