Any update on this? I note Evesham are the only one that have managed to get a system on line based around core 2 Duo.

    Cheers

Excellent news to see 2 Core 2 Duo 3XS systems listed. Very interested in 6700 processor based system - do you have an estimate for how long is the wait for this?

    Cheers

    LN15050 - Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 - Expected August / September

Very short supply and extremely high demand, which is causing these major delays

New Core 2 Duo prebuilt system

After a review of the Evesham, Alienware and Mesh Core 2 Duo models I have decided on the SLI version of the Scan pre built Core 2 Duo system. Most of the games I play (and the machine is mainly for game playing) are SLI designed (Oblivion, Quake, FEAR, etc). Not prepared to build my own system for this go, but probably happy to do upgrades to this afterwards. Hopefully system gives an element of future proofing (if that can ever be achieved!). Only concern is older Motherboard.

    Any comments on below specs?

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6700
CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS9500-LED Aero Flower Cooler
    2Gb (2X1Gb) Corsair TwinX
    1Gb ASUS EN7950GX2
Zalman FS-V7 Fatal1ty Copper VGA Cooler
    580w Tagan EasyCon - TG580-U15 - 2Force Silent Modular PSU
ASUS P5N32SLI SE DELUX NF4 SLI
Akasa Mirage-62 Midi Tower Case - Hi-End (Thermo efficient case with front panel door & IO port)
    2 * 250 Gb Samsung SP2504C SpinPoint
    Sony Black 16x DVD-ROM + 48x CD-ROM IDE
LG GSA-H20L Black Lightscribe 16x16 & -RAM ±R Dual Layer DVDRW Writer
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Inc. Service Pack 2 OEM
Acoustic Sound Proofing: Akasa PaxMate II Acoustic Sound Proofing Kit

BTW – congrats to Scan for excellent use of this forum to deal with issues. This was one of the main deciders for me to go with Scan.

    Cheers

I presume the older motherboard is used because the newer motherboards; NF5 etc. are dropping like flies currently.

I placed my order for this system on 31 July and received a delay notice later that day due to shortage of the graphics card, E6700 and Litescribe drive. Next estimate was 7/8 (today) – spoke to service team last week on phone who were going to try and hurry things up if possible, but nothing heard today. Happy to swap DVD drive if it speeds things up as other items show stock available at present (6700 OEM version anyway).

    Cheers

Despite a couple of emails via PM I have still not got any more info on this. I know the system was never going to be out quickly due to the out of stock 7950/E6700, but these are showing as in stock now. All I’m looking for is an idea of when the system is likely to be built.
