    Conroe Core or Allendale Core

Hiya - im in the process of placing my order with Scan, and had a question..

I would like to go for the Core 2 Duo E6300, but i notice that there seems to be 2 versions on the scan site.....

    -------------------------
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 S775, 1.86Ghz, 1066Mhz FSB, Allendale Core, 2M Cache Retail - £128.06

    ----------------------

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 S775, 1.86Ghz, 1066Mhz FSB, Conroe Core, 2M Cache OEM (w/o Heat Sink Fan) - £117.48
    -------------------------

apart from the fact that one comes with a HSF and one doesnt i notice one has a Allendale Core and one a Conroe core. If this isnt a typo can anyone explain the difference? I heard its better to go for a seperate HSF like the Arctic so would prefer the 2nd option.

Im just getting together all the other components before i place my order.

Its a typo I think. The conroe core is used in the 6600 and above models which have 4MB Cache.
