    256MB Sapphire Radeon X1950Pro or 256MB Leadtek 7900GS

I am thinking of getting an intrim card for my system and would eventually use it in another build, once the dust on the Nvidia 8800GTX/GTS has settled down.

Pls advise X1950pro; 7900GS or 7950GT. I am hoping to spend around £150.

    Many Thanks.

The ATI is a bit faster, but the 7900GS is shorter (physically), uses less power, and is quieter, so it all depends what you want it for!

X1950 Pro vote here. Much better card IMO.

    7900GS was a bit of a disappointment.

PSU is 600w, so power drain isn't much of a problem, case is big enough to contain it.

Noise is an issue i might just have to live with for now, as It will eventually be going into another rig.

looks like i will be getting the 256MB Sapphire Radeon X1950Pro from scan.

Many thanks for all your help.

The X1950pro is a great card for the price. If you can afford it, you may be better off aiming for a X1900XT 256MB or even the 7950GT/7900GTO 512MB depending on what resolutions you are playing at and how long you'll need the card for?
