Question Asus PB5 Deluxe WiFi/AP Questions.

Couple of questions regarding new system I have been putting together since September (first time home build so please excuse simplicity of questions).

    ASUS PB5 Deluxe/WiFi-AP - Bios 0804 - Soundmax Disabled
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 4MB Cache
    Antec P180 Performance One Case
    Seasonic S12-600
    Corsair DDR2 PC6400 (800) Non-ECC Unbuffered CAS 5-5-5-12 (2GB)
ASUS EN7600GS Top Silent Graphics Card (500MB)
Creative Xtreme Fidelity X-Fi Platinum Sound Card
    2 x 250GB Hitachi SATAII Drives (T7K250 Sata300, 7200RPM 8MB Cache NCQ)
    1 x HP DVD840i DVD Writer
    1 x Sony Floppy Drive

    1. Would the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro (LN13080) be suitable to improve the air cooling of the CPU.

    2. I have been unable to use the ASUS supplied "AI Guide" utilty since upgrading to a newer version from the ASUS website (error message on loading). Quite a few messages regarding this problem on a number of forums but no suitable working answers - anyone have a work a round?

Many thanks for your help and suggestions.

    Regards

    Coz.

Have Asus tech support been no help? I heard they were very good? If its a problem, can you not 'downgrade' to the older version until a fix is released?

The arctic cooler is very popular at the present time with customers and hexites alone and does provide better cooling than the intel cooler, but the main benefits people are reporting are more quieter operation.

In regards to the Asus software, I'm stumped completely as I tend to just ignore all these and have a nice vanilla install. However, if you drop the guys in returns/tech a quick line at the link Here they might be able to assist you further.

    Best Regards,

No reply from ASUS Tech Help as yet. The ASUS forums have a number of posts about the problem with only one described answer (which seems only to work for a few people - involves deinstalling, rebooting, reinstalling etc).

I have tried to go back to the original supplied AI Guide but same error message occurs.
