    Question WD1600YS No. of Platters?

    Hi

I'm looking at the WD1600YS drive but don't see info regarding platters. LN15743. Need to know if it is a single platter drive please. Can you guys help?

Also any idea when the LC17-C http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=465752 will be in stock (been on pre-order for ages) ?

    Thanks.

With regard the number of platters on the drive I honestly cant find any information on the WD site.

I shall try and get this information and as soon as I do I shall let you know.

The LC17 is currently out of stock and were still awaiting a confirmed date from Silverstone as to when the stock shall be available.

I'd be interested to know about this as well. I remember reading some review site claimed that this was not only a single-platter drive, but the quietest 160GB drive they had reviewed. I'm looking for a small drive such as this to replace a whining 80GB Western Digital WD800JB, then I shall finally have a "quiet" music PC.
