Think this would be suitable for a E8400 at stock, 4GB RAM, 4670, single HD and optical? Otherwise I'll stump up a lot more for a Corsair HX450

That sort of system would draw a little over 200watts under max load, even with a couple of pci cards I doubt it would top 250w.

A 350watt psu would have plenty of headroom even for an efficient quad core and beefier gfx card

    Thanks Hesky.

I forgot to mention about headroom to support an upgraded graphics card. Especially as DirectX 11 models will be annouced in 5 days. So for example would it still be sufficient to power say an ATI 4890 (if that's the power hungriest single GPU ATI card around at present)?

Re: Be Quiet! 350w PSU now £23.99 at Ebuyer!

Using eXtreme PSU calc I get a figure of 292watts rated at 90% system load using your system set-up but with a 3GHz Q9650 quad and HD4890, so yeah even with that setup a decent high efficiency 350watt psu should cope fine with a powerful single ati card and a low TDP quad
No running xfire or installing a watercooling loop though, that would be pushing it!

I wish these were still 24 quid

When I see Be Quiet! I think Dark Power range. If only it was the case for this offer. Still seems a very good price at £29.99.
