    scan.co.uk DPD delivery estimated times

I have read on the internet DPD do one hour estimated slots, but my tracking just says out for delivery, does that mean its really out and if so why have I not got an estimated time? would appreciate some advice, obviously if they only give me a time just before it arrives then its useless. Incidently I have the pre noon service so given its 9.20am now I expect it here within a few hours.

As DPD makes deliveries, each one is ticked off , as it gets closer to you, then I suspect an SMS is sent to you.

Out for delivery just means your parcel is out with a delivery van.

Usually the estimate comes straight away tbh luckynv, I suspect something might have gone a little awry?

Either that or there's a difference between the standard service and pre-noon

is your phone number up to date on wherever you bought your stuff.

Usually text message comes around 8:45 -9 am for me and my delivery window is always around a similar time.

I get a txt in the morning to say between what time the courier will come. This is fantastic for some people as they can just sign for the item and then go to work rather thna having an unpaid day.

Re: scan.co.uk DPD delivery estimated times

Hi guys, there was no update as I had no replies so assumed no one was following, here is the update.

About 11.30am I rang scan who initially told me not to worry as it was due between 8am and 5pm, I then reminded them I ordered pre noon at which point they took me more seriously. They told me they passed on my mobile number to DPD so they could contact me. Scan and DPD apparently did not have my mobile number, I remember putting it in my profile but cannot confirm I did this, it would be unusual practice for me to supply a landline number instead so for benefit of doubt lets say I didnt provide my mobile number on order.

11.40am the status updated to on van for delivery (or something similiar). However no estimated time.
At just after midday I rang DPD and this time they answered (an earlier attempt failed), the guy was polite and we discussed the situation, I was put on hold for a good 10 minutes and suspected I was been left to hang up but the guy came back and gave me the mobile number of the driver.
I rang the driver, after giving him my address he told me hes going to deliver to me next and I gave him advice on where to park etc. due to traffic wardens. He thanked me and said would be about 10 minutes.
About 15 minutes later he came and so was probably about 12.40 pm or so it came, since its now a few days ago I cannot remember exact times.

So positives are it arrived, I was able to speak to driver direct which I think is a nice thing.
Negatives are ultimately it was late, probably would have been much later if i didnt chase it up, and I never had the estimated time. So the question is I guess does the estimated time only appear if they send an SMS?

    --edit--

I just checked my scan info and the mobile number is there and so is my landline number, however of course its entirely possible that when I gave my mobile number on the call to scan they may have inserted it.

well the least they can do is refund your shipping as they failed. it will cover your time chasing it up and any additional costs if it wasn't a freephone number, don't just leave it.

Re: scan.co.uk DPD delivery estimated times

My next day delivery from DPD arrived the day after next day delivery. It's good to have time slots for your delivery if they deliver on the day they're supposed to!
