Looking For A PDA / Phone

I'm after a PDA / phone (such as the Orange M500) that features a 262k+ colour screen and wifi. I'm looking to upgrade from the m500, which I cannot fault, but I'm ready to move on with more colours and wireless networking

many thanks for any help you can offer.

T-Mobile have just released the MDA Vario II, and it looks a bit of a corker. Get that on one of the Web'n'Walk tariffs, and that ought to do nicely.

Cheers guys, I have been seriously considering the Vario II with W/W but its still limited to a 65536 colour screen (16bit)...I'm really after a 32bit screen. So I can really feel the benefit in upgrading from the M500.

    Regards,
    Chu

By the way, nichoman do you have any links to buy the Vario II from TMobile? I can't find it on their site...I see they have the Vario I, but I'm very interested in getting this phone ( or possibly the SPV M1300 on Orange, which is basically the same phone).

Not listed on the website yet, so far as I can tell, but I know that some have been distributed via their shops. That said, you can get it on Flext via scancom.co.uk.

I must admit, i am very disapointed the Vario II has not got a proper VGA screen. i thought it was going to have one. It would make a HUGE difference, especially browsing webpages so you can zoom out more to fit more of the page on the small screen. On this screen they can become unreadable. I really dont understand it, all PDA's should be VGA by now.

But anyway, it's still the best PDA phone you can get on any network. There are other options, but you cant get them on contract and will cost £500+

HTC have a load of new PDAP's/SP's coming out soon (which they are selling under thier own brand name of HTC), some may be offered by the mobile networks, but in the meantime the Vario II is the best choice IMO.

The MDA Vario is the best and most useful phone I've ever owned, bar none. Presumably the Vario II is the one you should go for!

Is that 3G access? And is it then possible to pair it up to a notebook to use as a modem (if you get a tariff that allows it of course )

You can, but it's against T-Mobile's Web & Walk T&C's. If they detect that you are they will suspend your account. VOIP and IM is also against the rules too
