    Aria PC - any experience

I recently moved house to the other side of Manchester, and while driving the rented van back to the hire place I suddenly realised that I'm only about 10 minutes walk from Aria's main store / warehouse. So I had a look at their website today for the first time, and they look pretty good - particularly their web-only SuperSpecials (Phenom II X3 710 for £90, Sapphire 512MB 4850 for £91...). And they have the bonus that I can save money and time by ordering online then collecting on my way home.

So, does anyone have any purchasing experience from Aria, and if so was it good, bad or indifferent?

Re: Aria PC - any experience

I used to use them a while back. I've heard reports that their RMAs aren't that great, but I didn't have a problem with the drive I sent back.

This was a couple of years ago though.

Re: Aria PC - any experience

I used them alot 2 years ago, stopped when I was banned from the forums, but thats another matter.

The only thing is, sometimes their super specials aren't so special when you add delivery

    Good though, never RMA'd though

Yeah, I should've twigged that the superspecials weren't going to be available for collection! The delivery costs wipe out most of the saving on some of them - still, since I know that I can work it our before I order...

Re: Aria PC - any experience

Another OK vote here. Used them over many years and on several builds. Postage is a bit steep tho and can't comment on RMA or Customer Service as never had to use it. These days I find Scan and Ebuyer on the whole work out cheaper if I'm buying a few bits, postage savings help tho and would use them a hell of alot more if they were on my doorstep.

Re: Aria PC - any experience

Some of the worst RMA turnarounds I've ever had. Pigeon English speaking people on the phone, long waits, no response to emails and so on.

And then there were the bad points...

Re: Aria PC - any experience

I sent in a RMA mobo, next day arrived 9am, was tested and i was called and offered an alternative mobo later on that day at about 4.30 when i got home. They sent it out the same day and i got it next day. It was a bloody fast RMA.

    +1 never had any trouble.

Re: Aria PC - any experience

Not bad, although I was quite hacked off recently to find out that some RAM I bought from them had to be returned to the manufacturer rather than them. It was cheaper for me to throw it in the dustbin than send it back to Holland and get a replacement by my estimate.

I just refused to send it back to anyone but Aria and they took it back, and payed for my mobo to go to EVGA.
