I really like Apple's ads because they're so funny. Why can't MS make ads that are equally comical?
I found the Apple ads deeply irritating tbh - I thought they were patronising in the extreme!
I'm not really a fan of either company as I think they're quite as bad as each other when it comes down to it.
I was surprised with quite how blatant they are.
It's common for an advertsier to talk about "competition" or even "the market leader" but to plainly state "Vista" in a Mac ad, it's no-holds barred.
Handbags at dawn, ladies!

I thought some of the earlier Mac adverts where quite clever and funny, even if they wheren't exactly accurate... This one seems to be really scrapping the bottem of the barrel.
I dunno Apple if you want to sell us your products how about you tell us how good they are, or how much better than M$' rather than spout bull**** like this... Its not like you don't spend a fortune on advertising now is it?
Pretty ridiculous coming from Apple tbh, how well recognised are their products from extensive iPod and Mac advertising.
One has to wonder why Apple don't use the merits of their own products in their advertising, rather than having to rubbish their much bigger, far more successful competitor. It's immature.
This would be funny if Vista was really that bad. I'm sorry it isn't - it does the job fine for me.
If Apple is really so superior then why don't they tell us why rather than just that the competition is crap? This advert actually does almost as much for Linux and Windows XP as for OS-X, all it says is that Vista is bad.
I also find it a bit over-done, Vista really isn't as bad as all the MS haters like to say, personally I run the 64bit version on my media PC, I turn UAC off , set it up properly, and it's pretty good. Certainly for average Joe who just uses common applications and has no legacy worries then I think Vista is fine.

Apple doesnt need to fix its problems and can spend all of its money on advertising because there are no problems with Mac's.

As for the Mac vs PC argument, PC stands for "Personal Computer", so, my Amiga was a PC, a Mac is a PC, there all PC's.
I'm sure what they mean is "IBM Clone", in which case seeing as Apple now use Intel CPU's, they too are "IBM Clones", if you cant beat them, join them...
exactly.
Aaaannd who's having to release another Operating system under the same name because OS X Leopard isn't optimised for all the fancy "features" they shoe-horned in?
Don't get me wrong, i do like it as an OS, but Apple's attitude towards Microsoft is just petty. More "I'm a PC" ads!
They are obviously just jealous because I am in one of the 'I'm a PC' ads
The thing is, if you look at the companies, i'm glad its microsoft been the dominant monopolist. One tries to make you agree to stupid NDAs as soon as you start to develop on their platform. One has illegal monopolies on 3rd party services (iTunes vrs France for instance).
At least all MS do is try and keep people locked into their system. Apple try and keep people locked into Apple, with no other way of doing things.

The only reason I do not like Apple is their insistence on making you use their ridiculously overpriced hardware.
OSX isn't a bad OS, in fact for people like my parents (and any other equally technically devoid people) OSX is probably the best of the bunch. Just a shame that you need to spend so much to get it, then you realise half the software you would like to run isn't available for it......
Apple should not be allowed to draw parallels with other operating systems like Vista as they are completely different products, targeted at completely different markets. I guess the marketing people don't give a damn as long as they get an "angle" though....
I would LMAO if Microsoft stopped Vista being loadable on Macs now, I wonder what they would say about the OS then?
