I was thinking about getting a Sony x-series but this looks like it'll be better, plus has anybody reviewed the sound quality on the Zune. I wonder if it compares with the Sony.

but as an owner of one, i would have to say the screen is too small for video watching imo, then again i find that with the ipod touch too.
this could be really nice because of the res and quality of the screen, might make it relaxing to watch flicks on dispite its small size.

Yeah, I would agree on that - I'm off to New York in November so could get one then. Right on Black Friday when their post Thanksgiving sales start.
?? the res, and the screen size, are both smaller than the ipod touch - is an OLED screen really going to improve the image quality sufficiently to make up for a too-small screen?
Wish it had line-inSomething to replace my iriver would be nice, but no-one seems to value it these days, even iriver themselves have abandoned it on their newer models, which is a serious downgrade imo.

Alice In Chains release their new album. And I can pick up a nice Zune to listen to it on.
I was comparing to the sony x, my flat mates ipod touch is of course broken. Well we think it is, apple person said it wasn't but it can't get wifi signal enless it has perfect line of sight. Damn thing was only 3 months old when they did that and they are refusing a replacement, wanting to send the crapple thing off for service because they can't reproduce the error......... </rant>
But the sony x screen is just wounderful, the problem is its too small because it is first and formost a noise canceling music player. The video was an obvious after thought (along with picture viewer.... wtf why?!)

I also think their content delivery system with the Zune store is superior to iTunes as you can get a $15 a month subscription for unlimited music (which you lose when you stop subscribing)
Also the wireless syncing is awesome, have a home server (or pc hosing the library) on wireless, turn the Zune wireless and it syncs your music over wifi!
