Would think so.
Plus when several sites hacked the id codes... the ATI cards worked better than NV's anyway.
If you go have a look at HardOCP's review of Batman its got some interesting stuff in there. ATI dont get the heavy physx hit on one spot on the map that NV cards do.
Yeah, I remember reading that myself a while ago - so what's the reason for blocking ATI cards other than blocking the competition?

Lots going on regarding that and other NV issues there.
Back to AMD/Intel.
The 5yr cross licencing is good. in theory should stop "splitting" of instruction sets and also enable best use of technology.
The payment is secondary but very nice for AMD's bottem line. From all the reported news on Intel stating that OEM's had to shut out AMD or no allocation/benefits etc, its a pretty much an open shut case with being anticompetitive.
As long as Intel does stick with the rules not to shut out ANY competitor not just AMD, maybe we'll get some more competitiveness in the market.
Right now the i7 holds the power throne. AMD however is holding the lower end with stupidly cheap bargins on low to mid range machines for very little cost. DDR3 prices i dont like thou. They are going up sharply now. But being able to throw together a very cheap dual core machine with 4gb of either ddr2 or 3 with a 4770 or a stupidly discounted 9600gt makes for happy and fairly powerful machine. Unless you are a power user / gamer there is no need for anything more powerful than that.
I really hope this evens out things between AMD/Intel a little bit. If we had more competition in the cpu space maybe we would already have the 6 or 8 core by now! Instead we stuck with Intel holding back as there is no reason to rush out new products.
