CULV FTW!
They (anybody) need to make CULV nettops. They'd be really cool and could really replace desktops in most people's (non-game players') homes. Would get a CULV nettop instantly for my parents if/when they come out. Hate laptops with their bloatware and recovery disks etc - they get so slow so fast and are hard to housekeep...
you would rather a CULV than a laptop because of bloatware?. Hate laptops with their bloatware and recovery disks etc - they get so slow so fast and are hard to housekeep...

I'm still annoyed that intel seems to have blocked the 330 dual core Atom from netbooks, that would of been a much needed performance boost.
Intel seem to be overtakeing nvidia in the "how to kneecap the competition" stakes.

Sorry photobucket links broken
misses most of the power saving features out, almost like it was done on purpose to segregate the 230/330 and 270 from the start
although the X30 does do 64bit, a lot of use when you can only get to 2GB max to play with...
nobody beats nvidia for shooting themselves in the feet either, rollo being a great example of how to do something wrong

Clearly false advertising, with plausible deniability. I keep reading it as 1080p, which is just a lie.
Did I say that?? CULVs and laptops are not mutually exclusive either, so not sure what you're getting at.
If I wasn't very clear then sorry - was just trying to convey that I prefer nettop/desktops to laptops. Yes some laptops are fast, but then they are often heavier and not worth hefting around. Not only that but smaller screen and laptop keyboards and touchpads all suck imho. Ok I take the point that bloatware+recovery disks are also prevalent on desktops but the impact can be so much worse on laptops as they often have less power, memory & slower hdds etc...
And many people with laptops I know end up using them on their desk 99% of the time anyway. I understand that many people don't like bulky desktops though - that's where I think nettops have so much potential. They're really compact yet have all the ports to connect a bigger monitor, full size keyboard and mouse etc. Only problem is that they are all atom so far, which is rubbish (v limited multitasking, no 1080p video, slow with flash etc etc). So in the same way that CULVs in netbooks/laptops have added more oomph than atoms and not much more cost/power, they should really breathe life into the nettop 'sector'. All imho of course.
