I saw this about 3 hours ago on Endgadget.

But to be honest though, $1200 doesn't seem too bad considering the retail price is rumoured to be $900-999 plus you get the 2-3 months bragging rights.

grep -v MAKEOPTS /etc/make.conf > /etc/make.conf
echo MAKEOPTS="-j13 -s" >> /etc/make.conf
emerge -e world

Obviously, but I did a bash oneliner to make it simpler for non-gentooers.

And normally I use -qv to spare me and my tty the endless toolchain noise.

Unfortunately MAKEOPTS="--quiet" doesn't always work, due to various autofail quirks, and emerge -qv works with non-make build systems as well.
