1 word: WOW
Quite zune-like.
Is quite a revamp in looks compared to 6.5 although most things would look like a big revamp.
Interesting, also no flash support are we seeing a general move away from flash from the big players?
i think people are making a really big thing about Flash support, but WP7 is a ground up re-write, it's not just WM6.5 with a new interface or anything like that. So someone has to port Flash to the new platform. I imagine Adobe are on it and it will get done. It's not like the iPhone where even if Adobe made it available Apple wouldn't let it on the app store.
No idea how locked WP7 will be, but look at Android, the most open mainstream platform there is and it doesn't have Flash yet, becuase Adobe hasn't released a port.
MS just out appled apple frankly - this is far far more clever than the iPhone - it's completely data centric and yet amazingly simply to use. I seriously didn't expect it to be this good and yes, I waNT!
Yes, I liked this. Interested to see this in the first working models.
Calm down fanboys!
The flash thing, well call me suspicious but I wouldn't be surprised if we see silver-light installed factory fresh on it. This isn't a bad thing, flash isn't as good as silverlight imho, so of course that can be taken as fact with no further qualification needed. End of debate.
I do like the task centrict nature of it, but I fear that user interface wise it violates the rules. The dragging left and right thing, is that really intuitive? I guess i'll have to play with one to see what I think, but it smacks of mystery meat to me.
That said, the original wheel ipod had the worst user interface known to man (volume control, try explaining how to do that my gran, please try.) and people adjusted. Maybe this will be one of those things that people pick up after an intial learning curve.

Ah shut up - i'm no fanboy i've equal love for all my toys Can we not like it because it's MS?
Mobile shell does this, so does sense etc etc - i don't see that as a particular problem especially given the iPhone's prevalence and therefore it's introduction of such gestures. Equally we could argue you wouldn't know to pinch zoom, double tap zoom etc etc etc. You can't avoid a learning curve with anything new, but if they are consistent in it's use (looks like it) then i don't think it's a big issue.
True but the thing i dislike is the text going off screen, having half of a word visible, often less than.
In one way I like it, with android say you have no real indication 'where' you are in the home screen to the left or the right. The apple one is just crap, no effort went in to the home screen other than icons, so lets not bring that one into the mix.
Pinching is different because its a consistent visual experience. As for panning, I still think opera mobile have the right idea, very small scrollbars, well they're not scroll bars they are posistion indicators really.
Its essentail to have that in a web browser because you don't spend enough time on any site to learn where it ends and have that 'feeling' where you are overall. I suppose this could all be learnt on the win7mo interface, but if they are really making it dynamic, it might be hard to know where you are always.
As I said, I will reserve judgement until I see it thou, it might make perfect sense when its in your hand.

Opera Mobile's an interesting case - because it does it in ALL SORTS of ways:
1. double tap to zoom
2. zoom with zoombar (on touch diamond 2)
3. single tap to zoom in, back button to zoom out (on the beta)
4. sometimes has positional indicators/scroll bars
It's highly configurable and they're obviously messing around with different methods - personally there's up's and downs of each solution - for example the zoombar on my phone means i can see what i'm zooming versus a pinch gesture. But a pinch gesture lets you alter the centre of the zoom.. I have to say i quite like (3) above though as it still allows you to centre the zoom but feels very consistent by using 'back' to go back out (and hit it again and you go back a page [at the zoom level you were on on said]).
