Erm, right. If Office cost that much I wouldn't own it.

That is still way more than the OEM pricing. I am infact in the market for it at soon for my dads new system.

For non critical users, you can use the 2010 Beta up until something like October - long enough for the prices to drop a bit.

And students should wait for an ultimate steal offer - there will likely be one!

Disappointing that outlook isn't offered as standard in the home and student release

Its inclusion together with the current price would surely make it more appealing and increase market share as well.

There is a clue in the title as to the target audience.

    'office'.

Or acquire a parent working for the NHS and get Enterprise Edition for £10.

Surely to get Outlook as the defacto standard in the home and corporate environment is better then to have say Windows Live Mail as number one for home environment and Outlook for corporate?

One product name then becomes synonymous for both..

From a consumer perspective 5 fantastic products for £109 then also sounds better then 4 fantastic products for the same price...

The one addition, which I wish had been available years ago, is OneNote. I've found over the last 18 months or so that I've been using it,that it has become the most used portion of Office.

    £8.95 here

That's for Office 2007 or 2008 for Mac... I wonder when I'll see 2010 listed.

Don't think that's true, been a lot of articles recently about how Entourage has been dropped in preference of an Outlook port in Office 2010 for Mac.

Stringent, Snooty, the next Office release for Mac will be Office 2011, due later this year. Bit of info here if it's of use: http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=22409

Prices may drop later on but as compared to Office 2007 its still cost effective. OneNote and web applications are definitely a plus.
