Re: News - Microsoft confirms 64GB Zune HD, launching April 12th

Its never really going to be much of an Ipod killer if its only available in the US. Dont know why they bother really. I know I don't care whether they have a 16GB version or a 1TB version in the works. Makes no difference to me as I cant get it unless I go third party which I'm not going to do.

Maybe they arent confident enough about their player to release it worldwide? And if not then why should I want one?

I wouldn't mind one of these spiffy new ones to replace my Zune Original (brown & green effect FTW) but as mentioned, If I'm going to be splashing out I want to buy from a decent (r)etailer.

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Going to the US in May/June. MIGHT pick one of these up. Or at least see what they can do compared to iPod.

Re: News - Microsoft confirms 64GB Zune HD, launching April 12th

I think its the HD radio service that stops it from comming out here.. another UK licensing fail. There really not bad devices it has a really nice UI and some of the artist designed ones look amazing.

Still you have to use the Zune software you cant just sync using wmp or itunes or winamp... So its really no anti-ipod its more of an ipod-alike because the software restrictions are still there.

You do but the Zune software tbh is nicer than iTunes, and the option for a subscription for music instead of only buying tracks/albums is a win for consumer choice

Re: News - Microsoft confirms 64GB Zune HD, launching April 12th

I got a 32gb one last year when visiting NYC, and I really like it. The UI is pretty good, it looks great, weighs next to nothing, and the playback is pretty excellent.

Getting onto the marketplace isn't too tricky either, so a few touch/tilt games on it are nice to have. 64gb might be overkill though, but they really do need to sort out selling it outside of the US.

Meh! I see no need these days for a dedicated music player as most phones can accept cards and play mp3, it may be slicker however its still another device to carry around.
