Ah yes, the ubiquitous platform independent plugin that has features that only work on certain platforms.
Have they done anything to sort out the fact that a badly crafted piece of flash can rob you of a CPU core? Doubt it.
As you can see I'm in a particularly anti-flash mood today
err who cares if it can bomb out at 100%, surely the Kernel won't let a normal priority or lower thread prevent you from closing a tab thus solving the problem?

Look at the chrome task manager?

I see what you're doing
OK, so Firefox could alleviate some of the problems with sandboxed tabs and a task manager, but really why should it have to? Flash has always been a tremendous CPU drain.
I'm assuming I don't as CPU usage seems pretty much the same after the update. Considering Flash is looking vulnerable with HTML5 just around the corner why do they insist on trying to force users to install their proprietary crapware DLM? The sooner HTML5 arrives the better!
Adobe make it hard not to (I couldn't find any direct download links on their site) but it's possible to just download the current installer from here: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flas...ash_player.exe
Vulnerable in what way? As far as I know pretty much the only thing HTML5 overlaps with Flash is playing video and even then there's still currently no standard video format for HTML5. And the most popular format at moment isn't open and is subject in many cases to licensing. I can't think of a single thing our company has made in Flash that could be done with just HTML5 assuming it were completely and precisely specified.
We have used and still use other tools as well but we're not talking about Flash being just a video player (hasn't been in over a decade) and I can't see it as one directly replacing another but in fact both are complementary to each other and both have evolved in their own way. Flash is far from perfect but if anything we're finding Flash covering MORE of what other tools covered and more and more projects requiring to be Flash and/or Flex based.

HTML5 provides a complete interactive panel interface called "canvas" which is scriptable and should be able to do pretty much anything you can in flash. Particularly when combined with video and audio tags. I'd be intrigued to know what your company is doing in flash that you think would be so hard to do some other (open) way...?
