Honestly, Hexus. Show us some pics demonstrating camera quality, and only give us 600*450 resolution? I expected better!
I'm not sure what the point of that "interview" was? Just looks like Marketing to me.

My thoughts exactly. I did enjoy the interview and think that it is something that belongs on Hexus, yes it might be a marketing campaign but its also tackling a real world question about the quality of camera phones and how good they are.... but please for the love of everything unholy give us some high res pics taken on the phone to look at!
For myself I am looking to replace my old nokia 6300 soon, its an old phone that does what I want it to do.... which is make phone calls and send and receive texts... everything else on the phone is so much junk as far as I am concerned including the awful 2meg camera. I am no professional photographer and must admit photography has never really bothered me but I have an old Casio 8meg camera that I inherited off my step dad when he brought a new fancier camera a couple of years ago... and must admit I do carry it out and about with me a fair bit.
The idea of getting a new phone that has a decent quality camera that can match the quality of my Casio EX-Z80 is appealing.... So how about taking this issue a bit further and take a load of new camera phones as well as a few decent but reasonably priced digital cameras (say £80-£150 price bracket) and testing them as cameras and show us the results....
Tbh I read GSMarena quite often and they voted this their best camera phone as they do quite extensive testing, problem is the fact its using symbian so the rest of the phone is average at best.
The camera on the Nokia N8 is pretty impressive IMHO for one found on a mobile phone.
It's alright if you've got nothing else, but it's nowhere near as good as a dedicated camera (maybe just about the level of the cheaper point and shoots)
Here's a real test: How well does it perform in not so favourable light?
Thanks
I'm disappointed at the quality tbh. There's quite obvious pixellation and lack of colour definition especially in areas like the sea and the tarmac (in the first and last pictures, respectively). Unless it's due to using lossy compressed images, of course. I won't be giving up my 5-yr old 7MP point and shoot quite yet.
The last image is 4,000px × 3,000px. It you select it then use the "zoom" you can see it at this resolution, it makes a big difference to image quality/noise level.
Go to allaboutsymbian and you can download some full resolution images.
