if only I'd known - I could have done with picking up 248 big box stores for £2 and having the previous owners give me £50million to help me start the asset stripping...
That's a lot of TVs for £2! Got themselves a bargain there, if only I'd known....
Comet's name is mud in our house. Our washing machine hasn't worked for 5 weeks and it was only bought 6 months ago. Customer service constantly messes up and the engineers don't know what they're doing when they arrive.
Should have put it for sale on ebay, sure they would have got more
If this is the start of the decline - leading to eventual shutting up shop - then I for one will be sad. Bought a lot of gear in the past from 'em and if nothing else I figure that they were making sure that Currys/PCWorld didn't have everything their own way.
Shame Tesco couldn't have bought them - to become some kind of "Tesco Direct" customer-facing operation.
Never bought anything from them ever!
I bought my 1st DVD player from them a decade ago, Samsung 709 for the at the time bargain £200.
Thought they'd been around since before 93.
Its a shame as competition is good, looks like its only going to be currys, Argos and the supermarkets for bog box elec items.
Did buy a fridge off them last year, service seemed ok.
What with this, Best Buy & the closing of the Jersey tax loopholes the signs don't look too clever for the bargain hunter in the UK - be they online or on the high street.
Does anyone else feel a guilty pleasure when you hear of big corporations not making it?
Went there once, then i realized i know what im doing.
So i went on scan.
They have a defined benefit pension scheme?!?! Such a rarity these days - stuff like that don't help when the business is making a loss...
