Always puzzles me about fanless cards is that in a standard tower type case the cooler is under the GPU/board by orientation which surely is not a good method for heat dissipation?
In a HTPC case the best orientation for the motherboard has to be horizontal to the case base/bottom for maximum/best heat dissipation?

I'd say a passively cooled Radeon 6450 is good enough for a HTPC... I'm using one in my HP N40L Microserver and it handles any video format i throw at it (including 3D Blu-ray's). The power consumption is much lower too meaning less heat to worry about in a small HTPC case

I wonder if we'll see half height 7750s like we did with the 6670s.

silent, and cool.. lovely low current draw....

I think that Sapphire card is genius.. and lets face it.. not everyone is a hard core gamer. I bet on a 22" 1680x1050 screen, running a few games from last year.. it'll be awesome.

36W idle? I thought the 7000 series had the zero power technology which shuts down GPU on idle and brings it down to 2 or 3 watts idle? ie. AMD ZeroCore Power technology which allows GPU to consume virtually no power when in idle mode. How come review says 36 watt in idle?

You mean like the new PowerColor Go! Green HD7750 ?

I'm looking for card for HTPC and looking at either the Sapphire ultimate or the Powercolor. It looks like the Powercolor one is much smaller than the Sapphire one with much smaller passive cooler. Trouble is it doesn't seem to be on sale at Scan yet...
