A case that is designed with sound proofing in mind has a giant mesh hole on the side!!!!
The hole in the side is covered by the ModiVent (a square of sound deadening foam) which is removable if you want to use a side fan.
My point being is that why not forget about a side vent and just add a larger 20mm > fan on the front or another 140mm fan .
I have the R3 and this looks a decent upgrade. However, they have missed out on the two things which griped me a little.
1) The cable routing the 12V auxiliary has hardly any clearance to the edge of the motherboard and is a real pain to get the plug through.
2) The sidepanels have very little clearance for the cables, and are just held on with a slotted arrangement that's a bit rubbish.

Is there an R4 Mini as well?
Pity you can't see the classifieds yet...

I love Fractal cases but they need to do something out of the box and get peoples attention to become a larger company
I also have an R3 and must admit the left hand panel is simply too snug. Once you've managed to contort your various wiring looms in there it leaves you extremely reluctant to pop the panel off for routine cleaning etc for fear of the titanic task of bending and warping it back on without having a hernia.
Other than that the R3 has been my ultimate case, and I've been through a few over the years. The R4 looks to have some decent 'upgrades' like the removable drive cages but nothing that would make me spend the cash already having an R3.
Should have said right hand panel, edit post function seems to have had a brainfart.
Loving the look of this, I've been looking to replace my WHS case...
Anyone know if there is an decent review floating around?

Finding this case in white in stock anywhere is taking forever and no-one seems to be keeping to the mrsp of £80 if anyone has any idea where I can get one please let me know
However these are not an issue with the R4, the extra width of the case gives about 5mm extra depth behind the motherboard tray for cables to be routed without being an issue for the side panel.
It also make it a lot easier to feed the 12vaux/EPS connector through, not perfect but better, they should on increased the size of the hole slightly as well.
Biggest let down is the lack of 120mm fan/240 rad support in the top, it only seem to have holes for 140mm fans, ok for air cooling but it wouldn't of required much work to put in the extra holes to give it rad support, only option is to go for a 280rad which are still relatively scarce.
