I've noticed that more people have been coming back to Flickr ever since Instagram implemented their policy of having the right to sell photographs.
How can they afford to give everyone a terra byte of storage surely this is not a good investment.
They won't need to. Most users won't come even close to that.
It's more about trying to set themselves about from the status quo and attract users back to the site. Just a redesign wouldn't have been enough, but this change has caught the tech headlines, just as intended.
Absolutely. It's just like when Google first started offering a gigabyte of email storage. I would say that the vast majority of people, basically unless they are keeping archives of thousands of emails or are keeping emails with very large attachments, will still be under 10MB of email.
