:O Looks like a real contender, especially considering they've kept the microSD card slot - a feature many users appreciate!
Looks nice, if a bit big! Then again I thought 4.7" was too big and yet love my Nexus 4!
I really like this phone, looks like the battery life will be good with a 3000mAh battery and it has all the other features I would like. I'll keep my eye on this and hopefully pick it up second hand in a few years when people have started to upgrade from it.
Why Sony? Why not include an IPS screen??
Typical. Just got the wife an xperia Z! Lovely device though - makes my note 1 feel very old and clunky.
I have always found the Sony xperia range to look so good, but it lacks that strange floaty bit like on the U, P and S... It always looked so cool!
It looks great, I really like the "add-on" camera feature
But I was under the impression that the cheaper lens came "bundled"
Guess I read that wrong
Very nice, 5" might just be a little too big in the hand, will need to get some "hands on" time to be sure. Rest of the specs look very solid - especially that uSD slot. Only question I've got though is about the "magnetic power connector" - presumably that means a expensive/proprietary power connector.
So is that going to be two ex-Xperia owners heading back Sony's way?
One heartfelt plea to Sony ... please don't screw this one up, make sure it's kept up to date with Android!
Looks good, but what puts me off Sony's phones, based on previous experience, is either the lack of or reaaaaaly long wait for OS updates. If u splash out for the "flagship" phone, they should make sure customers get the latest version of Android for at least 12-18 months after its release. Even my backup GS2 has Jelly Bean on it, and that's 2 generations old.
Yes - I remember the good old days of waiting for the X10 to be updated! Switched on the X10 the other day and it still nice to use. Its what pushed me to get the wife the Z. The X10 was far more stable than the samsung s2 my wife has or my note 1 that replaced it. I've heard nothing but good regarding Sony and updates so hoping the Z will be well supported. I'm tempted with a Z1 when my note comes up for renewal in Feb...
Quite like the look of this but 5" ? Phones are getting far too big now with all the willy waving going on between manufacturers.
Old Android versons doesn't matter much any more:

which is handy as the other phone brands seem pretty poor at updates as well. My HTC One-X only just got 4.2.2, just after 4.3 is released, and that is rumoured to be the last official release. I know there is always Cyanogenmod (been there with my old phone) but would be nice to not have to bother.
Darn, them great phones just keep on coming and coming.
