I would say Elop would be best, considering his history.
IMO the one thing MS needs is outside blood; a new perspective; change! Mulally would be an interesting choice, even if he's reaching the end of his working life. Not because of his time at Ford, but because of his time as an engineer (designing cockpits), then manager at Boeing.
Will be interesting to see what direction the company will take with a change in leadership.
Elop seems the obvious choice to me. Say what you want, Nokia saved Windows Phone single handedly.
Elop delivered.
Elop did a great job destroying the value of Nokia so MS could buy it so he's a MS man through and through!
