Spec looks good for the price. For me, though, no SD slot = no interest.
If my Desire HD dies I'd prossibly consider this but on the mobile plan I'm on without an SD slot I'm pretty put off. An instant sale if they'd included an SD slot.
I have an SD slot on my xperia SP but i dont even use the additional storage to be honest. I stream all my music and video as im on an unlimited plan.
I like the fact that its simple for them to put together, which might give it a pretty good rating on the old ifixit scale. Given how easily phone screens are to break it could be a winner. Im going to point my mum in this direction i think... perhaps my girlfriend although shes pretty stuck on the idea of a new iphone even though she cant really justify the cost.

nice specs for the price, should be a winner
Would have been a great deal if it had a removable battery and SD slot. Another thing I normally look out for is quality of the GPS sensor but most review sites don't bother covering this aspect of modern phones
No SD slot and non removable battery sends me off to China and Faea or JiaYu
I would of thought privacy would be more of an issue with smartphones for you...
Battery life is key for me, my extended battery lasts me 8 days of general use. Admittedly I'm not a heavy user, couple hours of GPS and phone calls with some texts thrown in, but it is more than top of the range smart phones can manage on standby. With the attractive price I'm not as annoyed by the non-removable battery, if I was looking for a phone I would consider it.
I live in the country too, just obviously a bit less remote i guess
Whenever i know im travelling a long distance i just make sure im prepared with a couple of films on my tablet. I have a seperate MP3 player aswell (Cowen) which lasts forever and weighs nothing so i just grab that and chuck it in my bag.
Don't get him started

I hope this phone does well, Motorola seem to be trying to make an impact again - I haven't seen many of them around as of yet though
It is, but a major aspect of that is what you use it for, what information you put on it. There would be a lot a smartphone can do that I wouldn't use it for, which means a high-end phone is overkill for me and something I'm very unlikely to ever buy. I had, however, considered a basic-ish phone, like the Huawei G300, and just being very selective in what I use it for. And in that context, no SD slot = no interest, even for me.
The no SD may be a killer for me as well I was going to upgrade from my Desire HD

Fair enough. I would of thought that limiting what you do with the phone would mean the space on it would be less of a concern. I got my 808 because of the camera and liked the SD slot but have yet to use it. I struggle to use the space on the device as it is. I thought that taking pictures would require the extra memory an SD slot could provide but even at the biggest size the pictures it takes can run into the thousands before space becomes a problem.
